Zippered Pouch

My sister has requested a new pencil pouch and it took me almost a year to make a new one for her. The last one I made her was the same style, but in brown. She asked for the same style, but different colors. She recently got another puppy, Coco and that added to three pups for her { one is Lucky, S' pup}. I though the poodle print is perfect fit for her.

The zipper and lining are both hand sewn and attached to the exterior bag. It is a little tricky to sew zipper by hand. I have always basted the zipper and adjust the right position; make sure the zipper work smoothly, etc.

More zippered pouches to make... are you making zippered pouches?

  1. I made a zipper pouch today too, meant to be a makeup bag ;) yours came out so nice, how do you recess the zipper like that? I can't imagine hand sewing a zipper on, must be hard.

  5. Gorgeous, Chase! You know I'm making pouches! Lol. Actually, I just discovered a "new" style that I'm dying to try. Don't know about you, but I love hand sewing zippers! A bit tricky at first, but so satisfying! I'm sure your sis will love this pouch!

  8. No, no zippered pouches this year but several drawstring bags!Nearly got them finished! Your pouch turned out very pretty and I love how you added that zipper. Would you show us how you did it? Being from Germany I wouldn't know that it is called a recessed zipper but as your first commentator calls it that I guess she's right. So how does a recessed zipper work in a pouch like yours? Thanks for sharing your pretty pictures and by the way I love your blog and visit you often. Not only that but I have found lots of inspiration here and above all I find the courage to try out new ideas. Thanks a lot for sharing and greetings from Germany
