Alphebet Day: F is for

 F is for Favorite!

Are you surprised that I didn't save {F} for fabric? I though {favorite} would be more fun for the letter {F}. S and I have same favorite sweet that we love! That is chocolate! I think I pass my sweet tooth to her while she still inside of me. For some reason, I couldn't say no to chocolate, so does her! It is the most amazing sweet that's been created! Each day after school, we both could have one piece of chocolate. We eat it bit by bit and share what we like about the flavor. um... She has a cup of  milk to go with hers and I have a cup of bitter coffee.

My favorite time of this season is seeing these Snowflakes on the window! They are not just pretty, but they are also telling me stay inside!  I love how the irregular shapes are formed on the window.

Our favorite dinners have been soups! Soup is what warms us up during the night time meal and we found ourselves feeling satisfy. The slow cook has been great for me that I can make two pots a week and have the soup all week long.

The most delicious and favorite drink is honey mixed in the warm water and added a slice of lemon. It is such sweet and nice drink during the winter time!

My favorite shopping goods is fabric, of course! Who can resist not buying pretty fabric? I am having trouble to say no! I love how each fabric has different personality and we can bring them together and make quilts or totes from them.

The favorite thing to do is sewing! I love patchwork so much! It always allow me to concentrate on the project. I still watch movies when I am sewing! Of course that has caused some sewing mistakes and injury! One time I sew my shirt with fabric and didn't realized it until I was done a few sewing patches.  oh dear~

Do you have anything that's on your favorite list? My list isn't end, but I didn't want to give you a long list to start the week. This week seems like the weather is going to be better and nicer! We hope to get a day to walk around the area, but if it gets icy we might need to stay indoor for now!

Alphabet Day : E is for

E is for Enjoy

Each day, I {enjoy} much from reading emails to a small conversation with someone.
Each day, I {enjoy} much from observing the daylight changes to the changing of clouds.
Each day, I {enjoy} much from S' music practices to the radio music.
Each day, I {enjoy} much from my western cooking to the eastern cooking.

We both were  craving {fried chicken} and { fried sweet potatoes} lately! Both of dishes take about an hour to make.  We cooked  the food and at the same time we ate! We were both hungry! Ummmm and they were tasty!

Alphabet Day: D is for

D is for Distance!

Not sure if this is the word that I am looking for, but I would like go with it! As a young student back in college. I have done a lot of travelings and was looking for {freedom}. As I am getting older, I realized the {space distance} between myself and families have becoming issues. I would love to be closer to families and friends NOW ! It would be great to spend weekend mornings with mom at the traditional market. It would be awesome to spend weekend nights with dad for some tasty local food. It would be so sweet to spend Saturday afternoons with my be loved sister in the local cafe. It would be crazy to spend some time with my girlfriends for some good girlfriend talks!

I recalled before I moved to U.S. again, my sister told me, {between Taiwan and U.S. is 7 c.m. on the map across}!! I put that measurement in my deepest heart and always remind myself. We are family and we will always be {t.o.g.e.t.h.e.r.}.

Here we are starting our little family away from the big family just like the big old tree that branch out. Slowly we will be reunion as we always do! Distance is just a {noun}, not a {verb}!

The oven just turn off and the last batch of cookies are done! They will be mail out tomorrow and hope they will sweet everyone's heart!  I am sure it won't be there before Christmas, but it will still be appreciated! Are you having a great day on your side of the world? We had an amazing day here~

Alphabet Day: C is for

C is for Capture!

Each day,  the come and go lifestyle hasn't give us much opportunity to pause and rest! Lately, I began to slow down and observe the surroundings and try to capture moments with the camera in my hand.  December light is warm and welcoming! We love the sunlight exposes into our living room and gives us the chance to scroll up the covers.

Be loved plants are breathing and ever green!

Quilts the we love are ready to be use at anytime!
Scarves were made and ready for the bitterly winter!

Enjoy my two new tea cups from a ceramics grad fellow! I traded my two prints for these two cups! Aren't they sweet?

Alphabet Day: B is for

 B is for Busy!

Paper cut snow flacks have been one of most welcome and fun Christmas activities around our home! We have been enjoying the simple activities at home and make it as fun as we can. This is our next activity for next weekend. I need to pick up some tin for this project. Have you try make some? My very concern is if it smells badly and cause some chemical issues.

I have been making list for each day and cross out the one that I have done! Sometimes, I don't get them all done, but good to know what's left and what have been completed!

a new pattern to try out!

Finished calendar cover last night! One more handmade Christmas gift to cross off from the list. I am pleased with the new free motion quilting pattern that I tried out! I need to do more! It gets better each time.

More plaid flannel for scarves!  They are really comfortable and cozy! I have been asked by many people in school department where did I buy my scarves. I can wrap three rounds around my neck! Very long scarf length. It is very comfortable for myself! In another week, the handmade Christmas gifts production will begin and hope will make it oversea on time!

This is my personal mail box! It has been empty for awhile. S and I write to each other time to time! It is sweet when I get her letter in the mail. I am waiting my special letter to arrive, but she is not feeling well today! It might be some other day~ Are you having a B day over your side of the world? I shall return to the reality world now, if you don't mind!

Alphabet Day: A is for

A is for Accomplish!

This is one of my favorite quilts! It was hand-quilted. The circles were drawn from pots and bowls. I love it! I put the quilt in the wash once before  and the wrinkles make the quilt looks vintage, made in 2008.  It is up on our wall now! It needs a little sunlight!

Made this scarf last night! It is very long. It is 90" long and 11" wide! It is classical and never go out of style plaid flannel. I made a cowl style for S and she loves it!  I intend to make all my close friends and family scarves this year. I just need more Jo-Ann's 50% off coupon!

Another scarf for me and  made an identical one for my sister. It is summer flannel, so it will be great for her.  Brown is great for any outfit as well!  It is cozy and I am addictive of making them.

These little guys are saying "HELLO". They are my favorite Christmas decorations! I can't tell you how many I have! Aren't they so cute?

Continue the quilt making. This time the measurements are correct and the preparation was organized! Nothing better  than making progress and seeing things coming together.

My swap package with RosaMaria is done! Everything is packed and I hope she will like it! RosaMaria is a very special blog friend of mine! I can't tell you how sweet she has been and how kind she is even though we haven't meet in real life, but she has been a supportive friend! I love her blog and things she makes! Check her blog out!

The stashes are locked of brown, purple, green, and red. more Fabric shopping?

My SO over due advent calendar. I embroidered it 3 years ago. It is so cute! I kept it in the unfinished pile{s} and never know how should I finish it. The pattern was free on line. I am not able to relocated the name of the pattern. I might contact the lady and hope she would put it up again.  Do you have yours ready?

Finished all the Christmas bags. I will use them to wrap the scarves and some handmade cookies. I am down to three packages to send for Christmas. This year, I am limited myself no to buy anything from the store only two things that I need to get. I have been planning the look of the scarf  for each special friend and family members. I am sure they'll look very simple.  My to do list has crossed off many today. It has been an accomplish day!  Are you having an "A" day?
